China’s top public security official elected Interpol president
Chinese Vice Public Security Minister Meng Hongwei had been elected president of Interpol. The new head of the international police force was selected during the 85th annual meeting of the organization taking place Bali, Indonesia. The Chinese official will replace the current president, a frenchwoman, Mireille Ballestrazzi, who was elected at the 81st Interpol General Assembly held in Rome in November 2012.
