Chawrasia – Chikkarangappa duo to represent India at World Cup of Golf
New Delhi, August 27, 2016: India will be represented by SSP Chawrasia and Chikkarangappa S, a good blend of experience and youth, at this year’s World Cup of Golf slated to be held at the Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia from November 23 to 27.
SSP Chawrasia, who represented India at the Rio Olympics earlier this month, got a late spot in the event following the withdrawal of Paraguay’s Fabrizio Zanotti.
The 38-year-old Chawrasia, a winner of four international events, including three on the European Tour, picked 22-year-old Chikkarangappa S as his partner, who is a winner of two events on the Asian Development Tour (ADT).
Interestingly, both Chawrasia (world rank 234) and Chikkarangappa (world rank 439), will be making their debut at the World Cup. India will be one among seven Asian nations that will make up the elite 28-team field in Melbourne.
SSP said, “I’m extremely excited about making my debut at the World Cup of Golf. It’s always an honour to represent the country. I expect our team comprising of Chikkarangappa and myself to make a major impact at the event. I picked Chikkarangappa as my partner as he is one of the most promising young talents in India and is in good form and high on confidence at the moment.”
SSP Chawrasia had participated at another major team event earlier this year when he represented Team Asia at the EurAsia Cup.
An elated Chikkarangappa, looking forward to represent his country at the World Cup, said, “I am honoured that SSP has picked me as a partner for the World Cup. When Anirban played at the World Cup last time, I saw it on TV and started dreaming about representing my country in such a prestigious tournament. Now the time has come for me to represent India and I would do my best to make my country proud.”
Mr. Uttam Singh Mundy, Director, PGTI, said, “SSP and Chikka would make a good combination for India at the World Cup. Both the players have won international events in the past one year and are at the top of their game. We look forward to seeing them deliver top-notch performances at the World Cup as they compete against some of the best players in the world. We wish them all the best.”
India’s best performance at the World Cup of Golf came in 2005 when the pair of Arjun Atwal and Jyoti Randhawa secured a creditable ninth place finish.

Hyderabad, 28th August 2016: Citizens came out in large numbers to cheer over 16,000 runners participating in the 6th Edition of Airtel Hyderabad Marathon.Over50 music bands and large scale entertainment kept the runners spirit high while sports enthusiasts and thousands of citizens lined the entire route to participate in the city’s largest community sporting event – Airtel Hyderabad Marathon 2016.
Mr. Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, CEO, Bharti Airtel Andhra Pradesh & Telangana wasGuest of Honour. Elite athletes received their prizes from Shri Venkatesh Vijayraghavan at GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli. The top three positions in the male and female categories for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K Race with their bib number and timing is given below:

Janardhan Reddy, IAS, Commissioner – GHMC at People’s Plaza. Over 5000 runnersparticipated in the10K Run flagged off by Shri Naveen Chand, IPS, Commissioner of Police – Cyberabad (West Zone) flagged off the 10K Run today in the presence of dignitaries from the Government, Corporate houses and the organising team from Hyderabad Runners Society. 5000 runnersparticipated in5K Fun Run on Saturday,August 27.

Electropreneur Park bolsters domestic electronics manufacturing with early stage start-up incubation
Initiatives like ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’ and ‘Design in India ‘along with ‘Startup India’ taken by Government of India have injected new hopes in India’s electronics system design and product development space. Taking the vision forward, Electropreneur Park has been set-up at University of Delhi, South Campus to incubate 50 early stage start-ups and create atleast 5 global companies over a period of 5 years. The initiative was taken by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), managed by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and implemented by India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA).Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Prasad said that having lost at the time of Indusrtial revolution, India can not afford to miss the bus once again. It has to take lead in the ongoing digital revolution and this alone has the potential to transform India into a vibrant economy. He said the NDA Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh Modi has already sown seed for this and introduced programmes like make in INDIA, sKILL india and Stand Up India with the purpose of making all sections of the society equal partners in this game changing initiatives. Sh Prasad said digitalised India will not only make India a more effecient society but also encourage enterpreuners to invest in INDIA.

Electropreneur Park (EP) has been inaugurated today by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Union Minister of Law and Justice, Electronics & Information Technology. The incubation centre has already incubated 6 early stage startups, with a few more in the process of on-boarding. The startups under incubation were awarded the admission certificate during the inauguration of the centre. The selection was done based on the stringent evaluation of about 200 proposals received. The selected start-ups are:
– Arogya Medtech Pvt. Ltd. – Cerebros® : Portable and low cost combination of Neuro-imaging ( EEG) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) for stroke detection.
– Ceantra Technologies Pvt. Ltd.- Connected Vehicle Platform that enables Monitoring of Vehicle Health, Better Road Safety and Data driven Online Driver Marketplace.
– Intutive Scientific Research & Evaluations Pvt. Ltd. – Multi-featured women safety IOT wearable which includes features of SoS message, audible alarm and self defence.
– Resonant Electronics Pvt. Ltd. – Smart Modular Switch Boards, Smart Monitoring Control Panel Boards and Analytics for energy management and control system .
– Starbru Techsystems Pvt. Ltd.- Tactical android wireless data card (TAWDC) can be interfaced with Indian Army radio for sending images.
– Stemrobo Technologies Pvt. Ltd.- Creating multiple Electronic development and learning kits to be used in schools and institutes for skill development in ESDM sector.
Other dignitaries present during the inauguration ceremony were, Shri P.P. Choudhary, Minister of State, Law & Justice and Electronics & Information Technology, Prof. Yogesh K Tyagi, Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi, Smt. Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Dr. Omkar Rai, Director General, Software Technology Park of India (STPI) and Mr. Ashok Chandak, Former Chairman, IESA & Member PMG of Electropreneur Park and Sr. Director, Global Sales & Marketing, NXP Semiconductors.
Objective :
The park will focus on IP creation and Product Development to result in increased domestic value addition and will witness a unique integration of academia, industry, government and other incubation eco-system elements. The platform will also encourage R&D, innovation, Entrepreneurship in the ESDM sector in India and provide assistance during prototyping, development and commercialization for the products, conceptualized at Electropreneur Park, produced through the scheme for India and other growth markets.

The initiative will provide the selected entrepreneurs with state-of-art laboratories as per international standard, ESDM mentorship by industry veterans and academicians, efficient supply chain and an eco-system that will bring in a bouquet of shared services and facilities to the incubatees like Taxation, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Patent Search, Training, interns, business counselling, etc. EP will also provide access to funding agencies to facilitate seed funding for the promising ventures and ensure a smooth transition from an incubatee to a self-sufficient electronics company.
About Electropreneur Park :
Funded by Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), Government of India, the Electropreneur Park is an Incubation Centre under PPP mode in the Electronic Systems Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. The Electropreneur Park will develop, promote, recruit, incubate, mentor, and create breakthrough innovations in the ESDM sector
